First leg of this trip to New York, starting with a visit to the Delta SkyClub at Boston Logan’s Terminal A.
Check-in and ground experience
I checked in for my New York flight 24 hours before departure using the Delta app.
I later downloaded the boarding passes via Passbook and as PDF.
On the day of departure, I left my home about 1.5 hours before the scheduled flight time.
Less than 10 minutes later, I arrived at the Uber drop-off zone at Terminal A of Boston Logan. Not being able to be dropped off right in front is quite inconvenient…
Since I already had my boarding pass and wasn’t checking in any luggage, I headed straight to security, which had a priority line.
I cleared security in just 2 minutes.
Location and welcome
The SkyClub is located just to the left, immediately after the TSA checkpoint. It is accessible by stairs or elevator.
The welcome was very polite, and after verifying my eligibility (thanks to my American Express Platinum card), I was invited into the lounge.
Lounge design
The lounge has remained unchanged since it first opened about 15 years ago.
It has plenty of lounging space and a very small food court. I’ll be sitting in one of the armchairs while I’m there.
The décor feels really outdated, and a renovation to bring it in line with the newer SkyClubs is sorely needed.
Catering
The breakfast offerings were quite decent and appetizing..
But given the (very) early hour, I decided to skip it this time
Bottom line
A pleasant stay, though the lounge is in dire need of a complete renovation.
