AC Hotel San Sebastián de los Reyes: Poor rooms, good breakfast

After a pretty good flight from London, I reach the AC hotel by Uber from the airport. Less than 10 minutes later, I am at the hotel.

As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Today’s itinerary

Booking

I booked this hotel about 1 month before my arrival, because of its location close to the client site where I will be operating during these few days.

For 91€ per night with breakfast, the reservation is confirmed.

Arrival

I arrive by Uber from the airport in a few minutes.

On my arrival, I am taken care of by a grumpy receptionist, who proceeds to my registration without much passion.

No mention of the upgrade. They ask me if I want the points, which I confirm.

And my room card is given to me. No imprint of my credit card is taken, I imagine that this is due to the presence of my card at the time of my mobile check-in.

Room

My room was located on the 2nd and last floor of the property, room 213.

The hotel is quite small, less than a hundred rooms, and it is quite easy to find your way around.

Just after the entrance, on the left, is the bathroom with the usual AC decor with this green glass. It is equipped with a shower and also has a bidet.

Then, on the left, is the minibar (filled) and the Nespresso machine which I will make good use of.

Finally, opposite, the large desk, very practical for working, and the comfortable king size bed, which faces a huge flat screen TV.

A safe and a bathrobe are available in the closet.

A small upgrade but a nice room in the end for a short stay.

Finally, the virtual tour in video:

Hotel facilities

The hotel is equipped with a gym and a hammam, both located in the basement of the property.

The gym is rather small and poorly equipped. I’ll skip it because no elliptical.

And the hammam does not seem to be functional.

Catering

The hotel has a restaurant/bar located in the lobby of the property.

The latter is open for breakfast and dinner, but I will only use it in the morning

Breakfast service

Breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7am to 11am. The buffet will be very good, I will nibble something the 2 mornings of my stay.

Departure

The departure formalities will be simple, but not very cordial. The invoice will never be sent by e-mail.

Bottom line

A good stay, the hotel is out of the way but that’s what we ask for. Good size room, but unprofessional staff. And no Marriott Bonvoy recognition, too bad.
