Here we are, on our way to Washington D.C. for our first family trip with our son, who has just turned two months old.
Booking
We booked this itinerary a few weeks before departure, directly on the American Airlines website. We chose a schedule adapted to our baby’s rhythm, with a mid-afternoon departure and an early return to Boston.
For greater comfort, we booked First Domestic for this 1.5-hour flight to Washington, choosing Reagan airport of course, which is very close to the city center. And in Boston, we live very close to the airport, so it would be perfect.
Before departure, I’ll book our parking space for the few days we’ll be in Washington on the airport’s website, for added convenience.
Check-in and ground experience
We leave home a little over 3 hours before our flight’s departure, this time by car. We’re well loaded, and my wife’s Tetris skills will be needed to fit everything in.
Once in Logan, we drove to the Terminal B parking lot, unloaded our cargo and made our way to American Airlines check-in.
We were well equipped to protect the stroller, so we headed to the counters to pick up our boarding passes and drop off our 4 bags for Washington Reagan, hoping that everything arrived in good condition.
We’ll be through TSA checks in a matter of minutes.
Location and welcome
The lounge is always located at the beginning of concourse B, near gate B4. We’ll be greeted with a warm welcome, and after a brief check of our eligibility, we’ll be invited into the lounge.
Lounge design
The lounge has not changed since our last visit. We’ll be seated on 2 armchairs facing each other near the window.
Catering
The catering offer is classic and rather poor, as the Admirals Club in Boston has still not benefited from the improved offer launched in mid-2023.
Bottom line
A pleasant stay, especially for such a short wait.
