As I leave the Intercontinental Chicago in the early morning, I arrive at O’Hare airport a little more than 2 hours before the departure of my flight to Charlotte.

Today’s itinerary

Check-In and ground experience

24 hours before my flight, I check-in for my flight to La Guardia via Charlotte through the American Airlines app. The process is very simple and in a few seconds I get my two boarding passes for Charlotte and New-York.

Upon arrival at O’Hare, I head to the priority security checkpoint, but see the Flagship check-in area, which I can access due to my Oneworld Emerald status at BA.

I have access to a dedicated security line, even if I don’t have any luggage to check-in.

Location and welcome

Once airside, I go near gates H and K, the AA Flagship lounge being located at the intersection of the two concourses.

Once my eligibility is verified by the cerbere, she hands me the card confirming my eligibility to the Flagship lounge, and invites me to go to the 2nd floor by elevator.

I hand in my card and am invited to enter.

Lounge design

When I arrived, the lounge was deserted, only one other passenger was present. During my stay, a maximum of ten passengers will use the lounge.

The latter is absolutely huge and the relaxation areas are for all tastes with all types of armchairs, of course shelves near the windows to admire the view of the tarmac and the runways, and a very large dining area to take your meals.

The decoration is rather basic, but I find the whole quite successful.

As far as drinks are concerned, all types of soft drinks are offered, espresso machines are available throughout the lounge, and strong alcohols, champagnes and wines are available from the opening.

In food, a large breakfast buffet was set up with cold and hot items of very high quality. Quel progrès pour un sWhat progress for an American lounge!alon américain ! Everything is appealing.

I’ll make a small hot selection and accompany my breakfast with coffee lattes and mimosas.
