I leave the lounge about 40 minutes before the flight departure. I have to go through passport control again but since it is automated, it will be done in a flash.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Boarding
The boarding has just started when I reach the gate. I board through the now deserted priority line… To take an escalator that goes down, sign of a bus boarding.
A queue has already formed and I will board the first bus.
After about fifteen minutes of waiting, the bus leaves and we quickly arrive at the flight which was parked a few doors away, in false contact.
The boarding will be done by the back door, and I will have to walk through the whole cabin to the first row, seat 01A.
Cabin and reception
When I reach my seat and after having stowed my luggage in the trunk, no specific welcome will be given by the purser, who remains in her front galley as if prostrate.
Obviously no welcome drink.
This time, it will be a traditional Eurobusiness medium-haul cabin with a blocked middle seat.
Service and catering
Service begins approximately 30 minutes after takeoff.
Trays are distributed without leaving the trolley, and drink orders are taken at the same time as the distribution.
The set will be correct, but one would have expected hot dishes, however proposed at other times. Strange.
Refills of bread and drinks will be offered during the service (but not after).
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive on time at the gate at Heathrow. But that was without counting the batch of flights that arrived just before. Despite the presence of eGates, I would take 1h20 to get through immigration, like in the good old days of COVID. A shame!
Bottom line
An average flight, coupled with an abysmal ground experience at LHR and LIS.
