Today’s itinerary

Boarding

At Heathrow, High Contribution passengers board directly from the airline’s lounge, which has gates on both sides of it to gates 5 and 7 of terminal 3.

The boarding is done in comfort, and a glass of champagne in the hand.

Once the boarding pass has been scanned, we head for the upper deck and that feeling of fullness when it comes to boarding.

Cabin and reception

The welcome is warm and we are directed to our seats.

I might as well tell you right now,I don’t fly Emirates for the elegance of the cabin. This mix of fake modernity and brown wood leaves me breathless.

But it seems that some people like…
Nevertheless, the seats are comfortable and well thought out, I appreciate the staggered configuration that avoids being miles away from the person who is accompanying you.

The flight attendants come and introduce themselves to the passengers, and distribute welcome drinks (with refills of course), menus, wine lists and toiletry kits.

If the men’s version is quite ordinary the women’s version is very elegant.

Service and catering

In addition to the welcome drink, service begins promptlyafter the aircraft takes off.

The orders aretaken with smartphones to avoid any mistake, and I choose to take an Aperol Spritz as an aperitif, and for the menu, a soup as an appetizer followed by Machbous chicken and a salted butter caramel tartlet.

The aperitif is brought to me witha ramekin of hot nuts.

Then the tablecloths are laid out on the tabletsand the trays are brought in.

The first tray we brought was a salad, excellent, fresh and tasty, as well as the excellent carrot and ginger soup.

My wife had the mezze, which she said was also excellent.

Wines are served by the basket and refills are permanent. I’ll stick to champagne for the whole meal.

Once the entrée is finished, it is cleared and the dish is brought on a tray. I opted for thechicken machbous, which I love, and my wife for the tournedos. Everything was excellent.

My wife’s tournedos was rather dry

The whole tray is then cleared to bring the dessert, also served on the plate. It will turn out to bevery good and rightly dosed.

A double espressowill then be brought to me, and we will finish these agapes by a last drink at the onboard lounge.

Arrival and disembarkation

We will arrive more or less on time in Dubai. My wife’s coat will take a long time to be brought and will make us lose a lot of timeat the landing.

Immigration will be cleared in the blink of an eye.

Conclusion

A very good flight, but still not 5 stars. But when you see that Lufthansa has 5 stars, this ranking is pathetic!
