Continuation and end of our autumn vacations in Dubai. After an hour or so in the lounge, we boarded our flight to London, which took just under seven hours.

Today’s itinerary

Boarding

During our visit to the economic capital of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai International’s Terminal 3 only operates on boarding halls B and C. This means that the company’s main lounge, from which it is possible to board directly into the gates that are used for the Airbus A380, is closed.

If boarding is not possible directly from the lounge in boarding hall B, the boarding gates are accessible directly from the lounge level, and it allows business and first passengers who were present in the lounge to board without returning to the main floor. The queue that has formed is nevertheless rather long, with about fifteen people waiting to board. Our Passenger Locator Forms will not be checkedvery thoroughly by the boarding agent.

Thanks to the biometric verification, we board very quickly, and the jetway that takes us to the plane goes directly to the second floor of the Airbus A380.

Cabin and welcome

We are greeted warmly at the door, my wife is directed to the first aisle, while I am directed to the second.

This is the traditional cabin of the Emirates Airbus A380, with the seats in staggered configuration, which we will occupy in one of the first rows in honeymoon configuration.

As soon as we settle in, a welcome drink is brought to us. My wife will choose an orange juice, while I will choose a glass of champagne.

We also brought the comfort kit, as well as the menus for our flight and the wine list.

We will leave Dubai on time.

Service and catering

As soon as the plane takes off, the crew goes through the rows to install the mattress overlay which improves the comfort of the seat in bed position. I’ll use this mattress topper, and have one last glass of champagne before I go to sleep.

After a few hours of sleep, I am awakened by the flight attendant taking my breakfast order. I would have liked to sleep a little longer, especially since there are still almost two hours of flight left.

My choice will be French toast, it will be of acceptable quality, without being exceptional. A few double espressos will be brought to me between breakfast time and our arrival at Heathrow.

Arrival and disembarkation

We arrive on time at London Heathrow terminal 3. The immigration will be passed in less than five minutes, and our luggage will arrive among the first on the delivery belt. A very fluid arrival experience.

Conclusion

A flight of good quality, without being exceptional. In short, the average Emirates regularity.
