Review: Paris-Frankfurt, Lufthansa Business Class on A320 Neo

The final destination of this trip was Seville. From Paris, no direct flight except low cost at that time, waiting for Air France next summer, so I turned to Lufthansa which offered business flights at less than 400 euros.

Arrival at the airport and ground course

For this early flight I decided to spend the night at the Sheraton CDG to avoid getting up at dawn. In the morning it is thus in Roissyval that I join the T1

Autumn weather, I am in a hurry to find the sun in Andalusia.

The journey to the terminal is fluid despite being a weekend of departure on vacation.

I find the typical tunnels of the T1 before reaching the security controls.

It’s jammed at the checkpoint with only one station open. Fortunately, the priority lane allows me to get ahead of everyone and be at the front of the line. The control goes smoothly and while I collect my things a second station opens.

The only problem is that the staff is chatting 5m away and no one is there to operate on them until an excited manager sends them to work.

I even have time to stop by the Lufthansa Senator lounge.

The lounge is not full.

The offer is decent for a breakfast but on the hot dish side, it might be necessary to think about restocking…you would think you were in the Air France lounge in 2F (well…almost, let’s not exaggerate).

Boarding time is approaching and I head for the gate.

Boarding

The staff is in place and as (almost) always with Lufthansa we board on time (and even when they board late they leave on time).

The priorities are respected and I can move towards the aircraft.

A kind word of welcome on the fuselage…

And I am the first to enter the cabin.

The cabin

Nothing new, we are on a product now seen and reviewed.

I really like the tones and the premium, warm look of the Lufthansa medium-haul aircraft as well as the leather seat. I like less the thickness of the NEK seat a little too hard for my taste even if I got used to it.

In business class the central seat is, of course, neutralized.

Congratulations to Lufthansa who manages to fill 3 rows of business on a Sunday morning during the vacations!

On the other hand there is room for the legs and I fit my 1m88 without worries.

IMG_0264

I can even cross my legs or stretch them out under the front seat.

Outside they finish the refueling under a weather which will not make me regret to leave Paris.

IMG_0270

Without surprise the boarding will be finished in advance and we will push back on time.

The flight and the service

The flight is short and the service starts very quickly. Considering my last experience of breakfast on Lufthansa I am a bit apprehensive (not that it wasn’t good but because it was the opposite of my taste in breakfast).

The tray arrives and it is finally an excellent surprise.

IMG_0273

On the other hand I don’t understand why Lufthansa tries to use square trays on rectangular tablets: it’s difficult to hold and it’s not ergonomic.

With the perfectly spiced dressing the salad is both hearty and delicious.

IMG_0275

As for the sweet dish with mango (I don’t remember the name) it was also delicious.

IMG_0276

The bread is warm and it is always appreciated.

The advantage of neutralizing the middle seat is that you can watch a movie while eating.

IMG_0279

The always friendly staff will do the service in French. A small detail that counts in terms of attention.

I really enjoyed the meal.

IMG_0278

For once there will be no second drink service. Shame.

Arrival

No big cloudy layer to cross, the weather is better in Frankfurt than in Paris.

IMG_0282

The airport comes into view during this landing on runway 25R.

IMG_0283

A little taxiing and we park next to a “Queen of the skies”, a 747-400.

IMG_0287

And guess what? For one of the rare times on a CDG-Frankfurt we park at the contact and I avoid the disembarking by bus.

Bottom line

A very good and uneventful flight.
