For the second segment of my outbound journey to Texas, a very short flight to San Antonio awaited me.
Boarding
I arrived at the gate from the Flagship Lounge about ten minutes before boarding was due to begin. Boarding started on time and in an orderly manner, and I was literally the first passenger on board.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome was very cold, and I quickly settled into my seat, 02A. The flight attendant came by to take pre-departure drink orders, and I opted for sparkling water.
The cabin was arranged in a 2-2 configuration with 2 rows of comfortable recliners, for a total of 8 seats in Domestic First.
The flight left the gate 5 minutes ahead of schedule.
Service and catering
The service began once the seatbelt sign was switched off. I ordered a vodka tonic, which was poured very generously.
Unfortunately, no snack was offered.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived at the gate around 15 minutes early, and I was in my Uber within the next 5 minutes.
Bottom line
An uneventful flight with a crew that looked thoroughly miserable. Standard American Airlines, really.
