After spending about half an hour in the lounge, I headed to the boarding gate for my flight, departing from the main terminal.
Boarding
After announcing pre-boarding for various passenger categories, it was finally time for Zone 1, which included me.
The boarding process was smooth and on time.
Cabin and welcome
The crew greeted me warmly as I entered the Domestic First cabin on this Embraer 175, configured with 12 seats in a 1-2 layout featuring comfortable recliners.
While the cabin showed signs of wear and was a bit dirty, this is common across most airlines these days.
A welcome drink was offered, and I opted for sparkling water.
We departed almost on schedule, but we spent more than 30 minutes taxiing due to an arrival slot delay at Newark.
The captain informed us of light turbulence expected throughout the flight.
Service and catering
Given the turbulence warning, I was anticipating a limited service. However, that wasn’t the case—there was full service with proper tableware.
I ordered a latte, which was served quickly, accompanied by premium snacks.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived at the gate about 15 minutes behind schedule, which is typical for Newark.
I quickly made my way to the AirTrain to head into downtown Manhattan.
Bottom line
A flight with an excellent crew, a somewhat worn cabin, and yet another typical Newark delay.
