Fresh off my flight from Austin, I took the opportunity to discover one of the latest members of the United Club family, the C-gates of Chicago O’Hare, the most important hub of the airline also based in Chicago.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Connection process
When I arrive at gate B3 at O’Hare, I discover that I will leave from Boston… From gate B3! Nevertheless, the area is crowded and I take the opportunity to visit the new United Club at concourse C.
And it will also allow me to revisit the tunnel between concourse B and concourse C and its sound system with Rhapsody in Blue, the wonderful work of George Gershwin, an icon of United Airlines for a few decades.
Location and welcome
From the end of the tunnel, the United Club is accessible going left. Across the tunnel is the Polaris Lounge, available to international business class passengers on a Star Alliance carrier.
Once you reach the lounge entrance, the reception desk is available on the right, while lounge eligibility is automatically verified by the access gates.
Agents are available to assist passengers who are unable to use the gates.
Lounge design
What a difference from the Red Carpet Club I knew in 2011/2012: this lounge is completely up-to-date.
There are plenty of relaxation areas, as well as dining and work areas, allowing for quiet teleconferences.
Waste disposal stations are available throughout the lounge to help keep it clean.
Catering
The food and beverage offering is nothing like the Austin one you saw earlier…
A full breakfast offer is available, with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes as well as more elaborate items.
Good quality coffee machines as well as a very useful Coca Cola product machine is offered.
I will make a small selection and drink a strawberry lemonade before leaving the lounge.
Bottom line
A pleasant wait at the lounge from which I will leave about ten minutes in advance to be able to arrive on time at the gate.
