After a few minutes at the C-gates United Club, it was time to go back to boarding at the same gate from which I had disembarked during my feeder flight from Austin.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Boarding
When I arrive at the gate, boarding has started for group 1, and I join the queue. I will be among the last ones of group 1 to board the same plane that brought me to Chicago.
Cabin and welcome
The cabin is of course the same as the one of my arrival flight, since it is the same aircraft.
The welcome at the gate was good and warm, and I will head to my seat, the same as on the previous flight.
A steward will pass by with a tray of welcome drinks, and I will choose a glass of “champagne” which will be acceptable.
Service and catering
Shortly after takeoff, the flight attendant will confirm my food order and take my drink order.
I will choose a Jack Daniels on the rocks, then a premium blend of hot nuts. I will be offered a refill.
The purser will then bring me my tray, with a hearty salad appetizer, and the excellent and tasty chicken dish I had ordered.
Everything is served with warm bread and butter, but no dessert.
The crew will be available during the rest of the flight for any request.
Clearing up will be done promptly, and refills will be offered throughout the flight.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive at the gate of Boston Logan terminal B about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, and will be in my living room 20 minutes later. How great?
Bottom line
An excellent flight on United, with a motivated and very professional crew this time!
