As our flight’s boarding time approaches, we leave the American Airlines Flagship lounge and head for the gate.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Boarding
Our flight to Miami leaves from Concourse B, and we have to use the underground travelator that leads there.
An Admiral’s Club is also present in this concourse.
Our flight boards at the far end of the terminal, and when we arrive at H-4 for boarding, everything seems ready for departure.
We are far from the messy European boarding, here everyone is seated and waiting for their group.
As we are the first group to board (1/9), we position ourselves in the priority queue.
Boarding will start exactly at the scheduled time and we will be among the first in the jetway.
Cabin and welcome
We are greeted warmly at the gate, as is customary in the United States, and then proceed to our seats, 01D and 01F, in the first row of the First Class cabin.
This 737-800 of the American airline has been equipped with recent seats, very comfortable recliners.
In any case, largely sufficient for a flight of a little less than 3h block.
A welcome drink is offered, I would choose a Diet Coke.
Service and catering
The service starts about ten minutes after take-off with the distribution of hot oshibori, and the ordering of drinks.
About ten minutes later, the drinks are served. I chose the red wine which will be pretty good, and served with a mix of premium nuts served hot.
A few dozen minutes later, the meal are served.
I chose the ham and cheese sandwich, served cold, which was very good. I won’t touch the celery salad, which is soaked in mayonnaise.
The dessert was quite tasteless.
We will finish the meal with a coffee+Bailey’s that will cut the taste of the foul coffee usually served on American airlines.
The service will be very laid-back, which will occupy almost the entire flight, and this is not to my displeasure.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive in Miami on time and will be at the gate in contact, then on our way to our next connection.
Bottom line
A rather successful flight, with a very decent hard product and an attentive service. Kudos to AA for restoring pre-COVID service.
