Continuation of my itinerary to Warsaw as part of a business trip. After the Plaza Premium lounge, it’s time to board to Warsaw.
Itinerary reminder :
Boarding
The flight boards from gate A24, one of the furthest away from the Plaza Premium lounge in zone A.
I arrive just as boarding has already begun, after a stop at the Duty Free counter.
The boarding of Business and status passengers is over, and I take the priority lane without waiting.
I’m boarded straight away (it takes a little longer because of the checks normally carried out at check-in), and rush into the feeder.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome is a little unusual in that the cabin attendant is in the doorway with a thermometer in her hand (a frontal one). We joke about it and I go back to my seat the 02D.
I’m particularly fond of Embraer 170/190/195s, because they’re very comfortable, even in economy class.
Here, the seat next to you is neutralized in Business class, unlike on some European airlines (follow my gaze!).
Power sockets have been installed at every seat to recharge your devices. However, no wifi.
Service and catering
The service starts shortly after the seatbelt sign is switched off.
After distribution of the usual disinfectant wipe, drinks are served, with juice, water and peanuts. At one point, I even think it’s the entire service (it would have been possible, follow my gaze) but no, it’s just the aperitif…
Then the platter arrives, and I’m impressed: a hot dish and two substantial sides…
Everything is of excellent quality, making this probably one of the best in-flight breakfasts I’ve had in a very long time, with the possible exception of the “made to order” on Lufthansa P and Garuda J/P. Special mention for the feta/oseilla omelette.
Tea and coffee service afterwards to round off this excellent breakfast. Impressed!
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive at the gate fifteen minutes behind schedule, which is quite a feat given the thick layer of snow, some twenty centimetres deep and a very negative temperature.
I’ll arrive first at immigration, be asked for my PCR test to exempt me from quarantine, and be landside within minutes.
It will take me a good 10 minutes to reach my Uber, as the access roads to the airport are hardly passable.
Bottom line
An excellent flight, confirming my first impression of LOT, probably one of Europe’s best medium-haul airlines.
