Review : Renaissance Warsaw Airport, Presidential Suite

As part of a business trip for a French client in Poland, I booked a room at the Renaissance Warsaw Airport located in the Warsaw airport area.

A look back at an exceptionally good stay for an airport hotel.

Booking

A fortnight before my arrival, I booked this hotel via the Marriott Bonvoy app with my business’ corporate code.

Because of the seminar, the price is quite high, much higher than in the hotels in the centre of Warsaw which would have been much less convenient for my trip.

So it will be the Renaissance for almost €150 a night, incredibly expensive for the city.

Arrival

A few days before my arrival, I was offered mobile check-in. I perform this operation, and my ambassador also asks me for my arrival time so that I am expected.

Until the day before my arrival, no upgrade was in sight and for good reason: the hotel was fully booked, no more rooms were available for reservation.

A beautiful space to wait for your flight in peace

Despite this, I was given an upgrade to an Executive room on the morning of my arrival, quite an achievement for a full hotel! I get the notification that my room is ready around 11am.

There is plenty of waiting space in the lobby

But during my connection in Munich on the way to Warsaw, I notice an upgrade to the Presidential Suite, the highest room category in the hotel… Superbe !

The decoration of the lobby is very successful

On arrival in Warsaw, I head for the hotel. Please note that you have to go back up to the departures level to get to the hotel, which is located opposite the terminal.

Hotel entrance

The hotel, with its shiny black facade, is very elegant, and the brightness of its lobby invites you to enter.

Welcome to the Renaissance Warsaw Airport!

I am immediately taken care of by the receptionist who proceeds with the check-in formalities. After checking my identity, she confirms my upgrade, my access to the Club Lounge, and takes an additional imprint of my card for extras. She tells me that I can also have breakfast at the restaurant which starts at 5am.

There is even a hairdresser in one of the stalls in the hotel lobby

Room

My Presidential Suite was located on the 7th and top floor of the property.

Entrance to my presidential suite

It is very spacious, almost 100m2, and is suitable for disabled people.

The entrance to the suite is wide enough to allow the passage of disabled people

The entrance is quite large and has a separate toilet.

The style of these bathrooms is similar to that of the main bathroom

It leads to a small table that can be used as a desk. This area also has an espresso machine, a kettle and all the necessary crockery.

Direct view of the airport terminals and runways

The living room has several sofas and armchairs, and a nice TV. This room can be completely separated from the sleeping area by sliding doors.

The living area of this presidential suite

This is also where the well-equipped cupboards with safe, iron and ironing board are located.

The sleeping area is also very large, with a relaxation area with an ergonomic armchair, a work area with a desk under the TV, and of course a very comfortable super king size bed.

I will sleep like a baby in this super king size bed
The desk is a nice size, but the brightness of the TV is sometimes annoying

The edges of the bed are well equipped with two electrical sockets and two USB sockets on each side, an alarm clock and a telephone.

The bathroom is so-called “accessible” and I don’t really like it. It doesn’t have much charm and looks like a hospital. However, everything is there: toilet, shower, bath and double washbasin.

The double washbasin in this accessible bathroom without any charm
An accessible toilet also occupies the main bathroom, with a horrible shower that causes water to splash everywhere
I really like the design of the bathtub
The toiletries are of very good quality

A room with a pleasant and original decoration, which I now propose you the visit in video:

Hotel facilities

The hotel has a spa and a fitness room. I didn’t get to explore the spa, which looks very nice, but I did get to pay a quick visit to the gym.

The spa was already closed when I arrived at the hotel
The fitness room, small but well equipped

It is quite small but the space is well optimised to accommodate a maximum number of devices. As a result, there is little space for free exercises.

Towels are available for athletes
The over-equipment of the room leaves little room for free exercise

Catering

After two flights in Business, I avoid a heavy dinner but… For you readers, I had to try out some of the hotel’s dining areas!

Club Lounge

Since my suite is on the same floor as the Club Lounge, I had to check it out. I arrive a few minutes before the end of the lounge’s Happy Hour.

The Club Lounge reception desk, which was not active when I visited

The space is very pleasant, and very well kept (like the rest of the hotel).

Christmas decorations are still present at the beginning of January
Some cosy spaces, here for watching TV

The waitress in the lounge welcomes me with great professionalism, and offers me two drinks to start with as the Happy Hour is about to end. I’ll settle for a vodka tonic, dosed in the Polish way (like on LOT). She apologises for not being able to offer me hot snacks as the service stops at 8pm. I was going to go to the restaurant anyway.

Strong spirits are well served until 10pm
The selection of hot and cold soft drinks is available at any time
Pure catering facilities are available

I couldn’t see the morning offer because breakfast starts at 6am.

After dinner, I’ll make myself a hot pot of tea to take back to my suite.

Restaurant

I arrive at the end of the service at the hotel’s restaurant, which is almost deserted. So I have 3 waiters to myself who will take care of me perfectly.

Ready to order!

After I have settled in, some bread is brought to me.

Two types of butter are even offered

As a starter, I chose the mushroom soup which was excellent, and where the truffle didn’t take everything away for once. Very good, but a little too sweet for my taste.

The mushroom soup with truffles was excellent

For the main course, I choose the filet of beef Rossini, served with a truffle purée to die for.

Nothing wrong with the cooking of the beef Rossini

For dessert, a cheesecake that was excellent but a bit filling.

The excellent cheesecake offered for dessert

The service is fast and smiling, and confirms the excellence of the hotel.

Reasonable bill.

Bar

The hotel bar is located in the lobby. It is open until 2am.

The name of the bar is well chosen
The decoration of the bar is perfectly contemporary

After dinner, I sit down at the bar for a last drink. The waiter is very welcoming and makes small talk with me while a vodka tonic is perfectly made with a local potato-based beverage.

Excellent vodka and tonic served by an attentive waiter

I was blown away by the professionalism of the waiter both in terms of his cocktail preparation and his excellent English.

Departure

The departure formalities were simple, as I used the mobile check-out.

Bottom line

It’s been a long time since I’ve been blown away by an airport hotel and well, I this time I was. Not only is it up to date in terms of decoration, but the service is truly 5 stars. Congratulations to the whole team !
