The ANA lounge in Porto doesn’t stand out for its comfort, and even less for its food and beverage offer. It has the merit of being a place to wait for your flight, but nothing more.
Unfortunately, it was time to head back to Paris, and as I’d arrived at the airport relatively early, I was going to kill time in the airport lounge. If I’d known what was waiting for me, I’d have hung around the hotel more.
At the bottom of the page you’ll find a summary of articles about this trip to Porto.
Lounge location
It’s located on the mezzanine, on the 3rd floor, almost at the end of the terminal opposite gate 32. Not a central location at all, but given the size of the terminal it’s not a real problem.
You’ll have to take the elevator or the escalators and, depending on where you’re coming from, walk for a while down a sad corridor before you find an entrance so badly signposted that you can walk right past it without suspecting anything.
Eligibility
The lounge is used by all the airlines that offer this type of service to members of their high-status frequent flyer programs or business class passengers. In fact, it’s the only lounge at the airport.
Layout and design
The lounge comprises a large “closed” room and a balcony overlooking the terminal.
The main part is really old-fashioned and charmless, and you soon find yourself crammed in.
As for the balcony area, it’s perhaps the least worst in the lounge.
A lounge without much charm, where electrical outlets are hard to find.
Catering
Breads and pastries are available in cellophane.
Cereals.
Unappetizing mini-sandwiches.
Fried fritters, a bit like falafels.
The only hot dish: soup.
Salads.
As for drinks, softs are available in a small fridge.
The usual coffee machine.
And the range of alcoholic beverages on offer is finally adequate in view of the above.
All in all, a buffet that’s neither appetizing nor of high quality, and barely tasty at all.
The facilities
The lounge doesn’t even have a toilet: to get there you’ll have to go out and cross the corridor.
Atmosphere
Quite quiet but not pleasant when I first arrived, it gradually filled up and became a little noisy, making me prefer a stroll around the terminal.
Bottom line
Not pretty, very mediocre catering and not even toilets… a lounge you can easily skip.
