After 2 days of an intense work trip in London, it was time for me to go back to Boston.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
| # | Type | Review |

| 1 | Flight | Virgin Atlantic Upper Class, Boston Logan – London Heathrow, Airbus A330-300 |
| 2 | Hotel | Millenium Hotel London Kensington (not reported) |
| 3 | Lounge | Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, London Heathrow |
| 4 | Flight | Virgin Atlantic Upper Class, Londres Heathrow – Boston Logan, Airbus A330-900NEO |
Check-in and ground experience
I proceeded to online check-in the day before my departure for Boston and got my Passbook boarding pass.
On the day of departure, I was dropped off by my driver at the Upper Class Wing, Virgin Atlantic’s premium check-in area, located on one side of Terminal 3 at London Heathrow.
The welcome was very good, a ground agent came to meet me outside to lead me inside.
The whole thing was a bit chaotic with the baggage drop-off which was not very organized, but I headed directly to the security checkpoint, the same as the one accessible from the main terminal.
Location and welcome
To get to the lounge, you need to go through the whole Duty Free, and follow the signs to the Virgin Clubhouse.
Welcome was excellent and I was invited to enter the lounge.
Lounge design
The lounge is very large, very spacious.
Some areas are airy, and others more cosy. The tarmac and parked aircraft are visible from most areas of the lounge.
Comfortable lounging areas are available to passengers with large armchairs and coffee tables, as well as very successful cocoon-swings.
In the center of the lounge, a larger dining area is available with both small and large tables, as well as a bar around which it is also possible to sit.
In addition, on the other side of the corridor, a fitness room is available with Peloton bikes as well as a mezzanine with a billiard table, a lounge area with TV and a “garden”, actually a very nice terrace overlooking the tarmac.
Catering
A seated restaurant area, like in the Concorde Room of British Airways is also available at meal times (so not during my visit).
On each table there is a QR code that allows you to order whatever you want, and the waiters also have paper menus.
In addition to this offer, it is possible to order at the counter: cold cuts, cheeses, salads and breads are available on request and at will of course.
The menu is very extensive via QR Code.
I didn’t order anything but I asked for a selection at the counter of charcuteries which were excellent.
Bottom line
A very nice experience to relax before your flight, and a high level catering.
