Here I am, back in the European skies, with a new trip to Paris, at the very end of August 2021.
Here is the itinerary followed:
| # | Type | Review |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lounge | Lounge No1 Lounge, Londres Heathrow T3 |
| 2 | Flight | Air France Business, Airbus A320, London Heathrow – Paris Charles-de-Gaulle |
| 3 | Hotel | The Westin Paris |
| 4 | Train | Eurostar E350, Standard Premier, Paris Gare du Nord à London St. Pancras |
Ground experience
A week before my visit, Air France and KLM changed departure terminals at Heathrow.
As you will have seen from previous reports, these airlines used to depart from Terminal 2, usually dedicated to Star Alliance. But since August 23, 2021, the Franco-Dutch sisters have moved to Terminal 3, joining Delta and Virgin Atlantic, two airlines that are part of the Transatlantic Joint Venture of which the two sisters are members.
I arrive at Terminal 3 1h30 before the flight, and head for zone B where Air France flights check-in.
To avoid lengthy checks at the gate, I go to the counter to have my health documents checked and get a paper boarding pass.
Once this formality is quickly completed, I head for the security checks on the upper floor.
As with T2, there’s no Fast Track here, but given the early morning of the flight, there’s no waiting, and I’m Airside in less than a minute.
Location of the lounge
The lounge is located just after security and the Duty Free area. Located on the mezzanine, it is accessible by staircase or elevator.
Lounge design
The lounge is a real success. Numerous spaces are available for lounging, dining and working.
The armchairs are very comfortable, and the entire area is set up for breakfast.
Tables are disinfected, and a small sign indicates which tables are disinfected and which are not.
Of course, early in the morning, all the tables are cleared and disinfected.
Catering
Food and beverages are only available on site, but can be ordered at the bar.
I choose an English Breakfast, which is served to me in about ten minutes, and which turns out to be quite good.
Bottom line
A pleasant lounge, perhaps even more so than the one used by the group in Terminal 2, which was certainly beautiful, but totally blind.
