Today’s itinerary

Boarding

We leave from tje lounge about 40 minutes before departure, when the flight switches to boarding status on the various FIDS of the lounge . Indeed, our flight departs from terminal T5B and requires a transfer by automatic shuttle.

Gates B and C are accessible via an underground passageway

Trains are available every 3 to 5 minutes

For us, it will be the first stop

BA wishes us a pleasant flight!

After this transfer, we arrive at the boarding lounge and board among the last passengers.

Boarding paths at Heathrow remain convoluted

Cabin and welcome

The welcome is quite warm and we make our way to our seats, 06A and 06C.

The cabin is very elegant, and the middle seat is clearly neutralized by the absence of fabric headrests.

In British Airways NEO aircraft, the first 12 rows are equipped with Collins Aerospace Pinnacle seats, while the following rows are fitted with non-reclining Recaro SL3510 seats, to make the journey more comfortable for Business passengers.

The tables, spacious and clean

Comfortable pillows and blister-packed blankets are already laid out on the seats.

Service and catering

Service starts a few minutes after the seatbelt sign is switched off.

Wifi will be available on this flight
IMG_3299
As the flight pass is reasonable, I’ll buy it on this outbound flight.

As we’re in row 6, the trolley takes a little while to reach us, but the service is excellent, with busy flight attendants offering everyone several drinks to accompany their breakfast.

IMG_3302
The excellent breakfast served by BA on this morning flight

British Airways offers a full hot breakfast on this route, which we will choose. I’ll choose an orange juice to go with it, and champagne to make myself a mimosa.

IMG_3303
A mimosa refill will be offered and accepted

The flight attendants will be working non-stop throughout the flight, constantly refilling drinks for all passengers. Great service in a nutshell

Arrival and disembarkation

We arrive about fifteen minutes late at our parking point in Reykjavik. Disembarkation is very simple, with immigration clearance in eight minutes, and QR code and vaccination checks taking just a few seconds.

The inclement weather on our arrival in Iceland
IMG_3307
Reykjavik airport is elegantly decorated

Everything is excellently organized to make the arrival experience as fast as possible.

IMG_3308
Everything is indicated with simplicity and taste (I had forgotten that Iceland was in the Schengen area).

Bottom line

An excellent flight, normal when everything goes like clockwork: the check-in, the lounge, the flight and its service, and the arrival experience were perfect.
