Back on the road !
For a few weeks, you’ve been following our magazines on business trips… This time, it’s all over – it’s just a few days’ vacation!
With 4 friends, we decided to plan a long weekend in Greece, taking advantage of the opening of the Air France route to Heraklion.
I booked this trip about 3 months before the departure date, for £320 return in Business Class.
Here is the itinerary followed:
After a short Uber ride from my London home, I check-in at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2, where the world has returned after the lifting of travel restrictions from the UK.
After a 5-minute wait, the formalities were completed after checking my Greek Passenger Locator Form and my negative PCR test (I wasn’t yet fully vaccinated at the time).
The agent is very friendly and checks-in my luggage all the way to Heraklion, inviting me to drop it off at the Off-Size drop-off point so as not to damage it.
I then proceed with the security formalities.
Location
I know this lounge well, located on the boarding level, just after the transit border controls.
I’m greeted politely and my access eligibility is checked by scanning my boarding pass.
Lounge design
The lounge’s design is very elegant, and you can find the full review here. I settle into one of the alcoves for about thirty minutes.
Catering
A few months ago, the catering offer was already quite comprehensive, with a buffet served by a chef. But now, with the reopening of pubs in the UK, alcoholic drinks are back too.
Bottom line
A solid lounge, and one which is likely to remain the standard Air France lounge in London for some time to come, as the reopening of terminal 4 is not on the agenda.
