In overnight transit at Charles-de-Gaulle between two flights, I booked a stay at the Moxy Paris Charles-de-Gaulle, on the advice of Bertrand, who recently stayed there.
Itinerary reminder :
Booking
I booked this hotel a few days before my arrival, when my return flight from Heraklion was changed.
Indeed, the Wednesday Air France flight does not allow connections, unlike the Monday flight, which arrives earlier in Paris.
So I have to book this hotel to get a good night’s sleep before the first morning flight to London.
For only 63€ a night, I proceed with the reservation.
Arrival
I arrive at the hotel from terminal 2F using the LISA automatic shuttle. On my way to this automatic shuttle, I pass at least 50 homeless people staying in the corridors.
I think Paris Charles-de-Gaulle is the only airport in the world with homeless people. I can’t understand why Monsieur de Romanet isn’t doing anything about it – bravo for France’s image!
I’d be waiting for the automatic shuttle for a good ten minutes in the terminal 2 station.
Arriving at the PR parking lot, the footpath to the Moxy is quite long, and above all unlit, which sometimes makes walking difficult.
On arrival, I was greeted with an excellent welcome and checked-in. I’m immediately called by name, without having to give it, and offered a welcome drink, as is customary in Moxy hotels. I’m told that a little surprise has been left for me in my room!
I fill in the traditional breakfast form for the next day, which I’ll have in the restaurant and not in my room.
Room
Because of my Ambassador status and despite the low price paid, the hotel upgraded me to a very nice suite.
After a wide entrance is the lounge, with sofa, coffee table and desk, plus a large TV.
The second room is the bedroom itself, with a king-size bed that will be comfortable, then comes the bathroom, which will be (I hate this) “accessible”.
But I think the large size of the suite is also due to this feature…
Finally, the welcome service will be excellent, with a large box of macaroons and half a bottle of champagne, along with a little note that will touch my heart.
To finish, a video tour:
Hotel facilities
The hotel has a fitness room, but I won’t be using it this time.
Food options
I will only use the breakfast service. Quite disappointing, I’ve had better even at Moxy, especially in Lille.
Departure
The departure formalities were fast and simple, and the invoice was e-mailed to me straight away. Perfect!
Bottom line
I can confirm Bertrand’s opinion: an excellent hotel, much better than the Sheraton and, even if it’s not in the heart of Terminal 2, the automatic shuttle connection does the job.
