Pet Taxi, London-Paris : Really great service

Transporting pets between different countries is not easy.

When we moved from Paris to London, the only option was the car and we found this cab service between France and the UK.

As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Today’s itinerary

Buying and preparing the trip

For this trip, we exchanged a few emails with the same pet taxi company we had used for our outbound trip from Paris to London a little over two years earlier.

The rates have slightly increased since the last time, since it’s a little bit more than 700£ that we will spend for a one way trip between London and Paris.

The advantage of this service is that we don’t have to worry about any break in the journey, as we will be picked up from our hotel in London and driven to our hotel in Paris.

The fare paid also includes the ticket for the Channel Tunnel crossing.

Journey

The driver arrives on time at the pick-up point, i.e. the Residence Inn where we have just stayed for four nights. The vehicle is large enough to accommodate all of our luggage, as well as Muffin’s carrier for the subsequent plane ride.

Muffin will be able to travel outside her carrier in the car.

Don’t expect extreme comfort: the interior of the vehicle is simple, but it will do the job. It will take us a little more than 6h30 to reach the center of Paris from the center of London, thanks to a rather fluid traffic.

The driver was very pleasant, and stopped when we wanted to make a technical break or to buy some food for lunch.

Bottom line

A really nice service. Of course, it can seem a little bit expensive, but if we had to factor the price of a Eurostar ticket for two people, or the price of a plane ticket for two people, the price difference to transport our animal is not so important.
