As part of a new business trip to Paris, I’m once again making the decision of choosing Air France., due to the high frequencies offered by the national airline to London, which at that time operated 3 daily flights to the British capital, compared with just one train a day on Eurostar and two flights a week on BA.
Here’s the itinerary:
Ground experience and lounge
Like last time, I’ll be using the Plaza Premium lounge. In principle, Air France passengers are welcome this time. The lounge will gradually fill up with passengers from many airlines. You can find the review here.
Boarding
Having arrived at the airport more than 3 hours before departure, I didn’t get to the check-in counters. So I left the lounge a good quarter of an hour before boarding to have my PCR test checked at the gate, which was done, albeit laboriously.
As a result, I’m in “pole position” for boarding and I’m the first to arrive at the plane.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome is rather warm and I settle into my seat, 02F. No oshibori or water bottle positioned.
The flight will be fully booked in both Business and Economy.
Service and catering
In view of the recent exchanges on FlyerTalk, I was expecting to see a meal tray again…
No, it’s still… nothing that’s provided. The purser will come and do her platinum greeting and apologize, and bring me and my neighbor, who is also Platinum for life, a bottle of water.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive in Hall K of Terminal 2E.
Immigration will be cleared in 2 minutes, after verification of the PCR test and the reason for travel, and I’ll be in my UberC which will take me to my hotel 5 minutes later.
Bottom line
An uneventful flight, but we’re still waiting for the service on the route to return.
