Continuation of our journey linked to my move to the British capital, which, after a long stay in Paris, will now take us to the other side of the Channel.
We had to use a pet taxi service to get to the UK because :
- We don’t have a car, so we can’t cross the Channel ourselves by Ferry or Eurotunnel,
- Eurostar does not accept pets
- No airline accepts pets in the hold to the UK, and we didn’t want to use cargo services (which involve a long journey time).
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Booking
Searching the internet, we came across a serious Pet Taxi business offering transfers from Calais to Folkestone for £200. Very well… But when I contacted them, they said they could pick us up in Paris and take us straight to London… Perfect!
So I proceed with the booking (not cheap at all for £695) from end to end. One less thing to think about…
Course of events
A few days before departure, we carry out the final veterinary checks at our local vet. Everything will be in order.
The driver arrives a few minutes before the scheduled time at the hotel. He takes charge of all our junk (which barely fits in his cab), and off we go for a 6-hour drive to our new London hotel.
The journey will be perfect, and we’ll stop for a break once between Paris and Calais.
Once at the Channel Tunnel, veterinary checks are done in a jiffy, immigration too, and the crossing goes like clockwork!
We take a final break just after the crossing to refuel the engine and empty our bladders, then head to London.
It’s going to be a long journey across London, but we arrive in Kensington just under 6 hours after the departure!
Bottom line
Excellent service, and a business I’d recommend to anyone visiting the UK with a pet!
