We leave the hotel around 3pm, for our flight leaving around 6pm. After about 45 minutes of driving, we arrive at terminal 7 of the JFK airport.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Check-in and ground experience
We use a dedicated check-in area for First Class customers, similar to The First Wing at LHR.
The formalities are quickly completed, our luggage tagged for London with a First Class tag, and we go through the dedicated security line.
Location
The Concorde Room is separate from the Galleries Club and Galleries First lounges, located just past security, while this Concorde Room is located near the boarding gates.
It’s historical: in the great era of Concorde, boarding was done directly from the lounge. What a missed time…
Lounge design
The design of the lounge is rather modest, let’s just say it could use a big refresh. This will happen with the transfer of BA to Terminal 8 on 31/12/2022.
Lounging areas and a restaurant-style dining area are available.
Catering offer
In this lounge, all catering is done a la carte. This menu is quite extensive, and we will choose to dine lightly in the lounge before our flight.
The champagne served is Moët et Chandon white or rosé.
We sit at a table and are served by an excellent waiter.
The cards are distributed to us, and bread will be brought to us.
I will choose the leek and potato soup as a starter, which will be succulent.
For the main course, I will take the pasta which will certainly be good but in insufficient quantity. Sufficient nevertheless if you eat on board.
The cheesecake and cheeses will be perfect.
Bottom line
An excellent lounge because of its service and catering, but the renovation seems unavoidable.
