Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, Flying Blue, Air France and KLM have announced numerous customer-oriented measuresas initially the reduction of the qualification thresholds for the year 2020, then the fact that 2020 to be considered a blank yearbut also a commercial policy on tickets purchased that is much more advantageous than that initially practiced by its competitors.
But to boost Air France and KLM traffic, Flying Blue is launching a new promotion today, already noticed by some members of the FlyerTalk forum.
Supporting the restart of the flight program
For one of the first times in their history, Air France and KLM have understood that loyal and frequent customers are the key to the recovery of their business. Also, with the gradual increase in traffic during the summer and at the start of the new school year in September, the two airlines wish to secure their load factor by offering an advantageous promotion, which allows for a greater accumulation of miles, and an easier qualification in the higher levels.
The promotion is pretty simple: double miles and XP for all flights between July 13 and December 31, 2020.
This also applies to UXPs that qualify for Platinum/Club 2000 Ultimate status.
Are there any exceptions?
Please note that the promotion only applies to flights marketed by Air France and KLM. In other words, the accumulation of XP and miles on flights marketed by another SkyTeam alliance partner are not eligible for this promotion.
XP doubling is also not available on :
- The 2 additional XP granted to Air France Discount Pass holders on flights in Metropolitan France,
- The additional 2 XP granted on flights within Kenya and Romania.
Apart from that, it’s open bar: no fare restrictions, no departure or arrival zone: it’s Flying Blue’s first worldwide promotion!
For example: a round trip Stockholm – New York on Air France, traditionally pays 90 XP round trip (15 XP on the Stockholm-Paris segment, 30 XP on the Paris-New York segment and vice versa).
It will now earn 180, which is more than half of a Platinum requalification!
In conclusion
This is an excellent initiative on the part of Flying Blue, which is once again seeking to win over its loyal customers… And for those seeking status or renewal, this is an excellent opportunity to achieve it, especially by taking advantage of post-COVID business promotions.
