United plays the Star Wars card

United pulls out all the stops to support the release of the latest Star Wars movie (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) in which the airline is a partner

A Star Wars B737

United is not the first airline to fly planes in the famous franchise’s colors, but it is a first for them. Next month a Boeing 737 in Star Wars colors will take flight.

Personally I prefer ANA’s but then again…

But it doesn’t stop there.

During the month of December, passengers flying on this aircraft will board to the sound of the legendary Star Wars soundtrack. Not sure that it will not end up getting on their nerves.

On some flights, comfort kits in Star Wars colors will be distributed to passengers.

Members of its MileagePlus loyalty program will also be able to purchase tickets to the film’s premieres and many other Star Wars-related events and goodies by bidding on points.

Star Wars style safety instructions

Of course we could not avoid a new video of security instructions…. and so here we are.

Honestly I think that 5 minutes is too long even if I think that in the long run it will not be as unbearable at the 10th viewing as the Turkish Airlines “Lego 2”.

In short, a good commercial partnership for a film launch even if I find the whole thing a bit too “stuffy”. Not sure that the customer does not border on overdose.
