For the Oktoberfest in Munich, Lufthansa is preparing special events for take-off.
Lufthansa employees in traditional Bavarian dress
This year, a crew in traditional costume will fly aboard the airline’s Airbus A380. A total of 21 Lufthansa flight attendants will exchange their uniforms for traditional Bavarian dress. The first flight will take off from Munich on September 23 to Beijing, while the October 3 flight will be from Munich to Los Angeles. In addition, the crews of a selection of European lines will also wear traditional costumes.
As in previous years, Lufthansa passengers can also experience flights in traditional dress on selected European routes from Munich to Amsterdam, Lyon, Gdansk, Milan, Sofia, Brussels, Ancona, Belgrade, Warsaw, Cologne and Münster.
The same will apply to Lufthansa’s passenger handling staff in Munich’s Terminal 2.
Oktoberfest in the Lufthansa lounges
The Lufthansa lounges in Munich are also prepared for the Oktoberfest. In the twelve lounges in Terminal 2 and the satellite building, more than 4,000 kilograms of Leberkäs (meat loaves) will be served, as well as more than 38,000 pretzels and approximately 750 kilograms of Weisswurst.
This year’s Oktoberfest menu in Lufthansa’s festively decorated first-class lounges will begin with a traditional soup, Festtagssuppe, followed by a farmhouse duck soup and ending with a homemade apple strudel served with vanilla sauce, toasted almonds and rum raisins.
In the Senator and Business lounges, passengers can enjoy typical Bavarian dishes such as Leberkäs’, Fleischpflanzerl meatballs and cottage cheese mousse with plum filling.
