Air France opens its new Business lounge at Los Angeles airport

After having announced a new improvement of its First class experience at CDG, Air France recently unveiled its new Business Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).

This expansive lounge, covering nearly 12,000 square feet, is a significant enhancement for Air France passengers, offering a variety of premium services and amenities designed to elevate the travel experience.

Features of the Air France Business Lounge

Design and Ambiance

The lounge is designed with a sleek and chic aesthetic, featuring Air France’s signature colors of blue, white, and red. The furniture includes creations by renowned French designers, creating a sophisticated and comfortable environment for passengers to relax before their flights.

Dining Options

Central to the lounge is a dining area that highlights French cuisine Passengers can enjoy dishes like monkfish Provençale, beef bourguignon, and cassoulet with duck confit, prepared by a chef in an open kitchen.

The lounge also offers a selection of French wines, champagnes, and other beverages at its bar.

Spa

A standout feature of the lounge is the Clarins spa area, providing complimentary facial treatments aimed at alleviating the stress of travel. This partnership with Clarins is a long-standing one, ensuring high-quality spa services for passengers.

Exclusive Areas

The lounge includes a private section for La Première passengers, offering a more intimate and luxurious setting with its own dining area and additional spa treatments. There is also a dedicated area for Flying Blue Ultimate customers, providing a quieter space for relaxation and work.

Comparison with Other Lounges at TBIT

Star Alliance Lounge

The Star Alliance Lounge at TBIT is often praised for its spaciousness and variety of amenities, including an outdoor terrace with great views, a diverse buffet, and a full-service bar. However, the new Air France lounge sets itself apart with its refined French dining experience and exclusive spa services, which are not commonly found in other lounge.

Oneworld Lounge

The Oneworld Business Lounge, also located in TBIT, offers a solid selection of food and beverages, along with ample seating and a quiet area for relaxation. While it provides a high standard of service, it lacks the distinctive French culinary and spa elements that Air France offers, making the latter a unique option for passengers looking for a more specialized experience.

KAL Lounge

The Korean Air (KAL) Lounge is known for its Korean cuisine, such as Korean fried chicken, and a decent array of amenities. However, it does not match the luxurious offerings of Air France’s new lounge, particularly in terms of exclusive areas for high-tier passengers and the high-quality French dining options.

Bottom line

The new Air France Business Lounge at LAX significantly enhances the airport’s lounge landscape with its focus on French elegance, gourmet dining, and wellness services. While other lounges like the Star Alliance and Oneworld lounges provide excellent facilities, Air France’s emphasis on a tailored, high-end experience, particularly with its exclusive La Première and Flying Blue Ultimate areas, sets a new standard for luxury and comfort at LAX. This investment reflects Air France’s commitment to providing an exceptional ground experience that complements their in-flight service, ensuring passengers begin their journey in the utmost comfort and style.
