Business trip to Charlotte

As my second month in my new job draws to a close, I decided to travel to Charlotte, where the assistant I’ve just recruited is based, to finalize his onboarding.

I also planned two full days of meetings in North Carolina, where I’ll be able to talk to my boss as well.

Flights and transportation

For flights, I booked economy class on American Airlines, by corporate travel policy. However, I managed to upgrade on 2 out of 3 flights via the American Airlines website.

Unfortunately, due to weather problems on the northeast corridor, I had to change my reservation at the lounge in Boston to a direct flight, the last seat of the flight.

The return had already been booked on a direct flight and upgraded to First.

For ground transportation, I used the Silver Line in Boston and Uber in Charlotte.

Lodging

For accommodation, I had intended to stay for 3 nights at the JW Marriott Charlotte, but we were planning to meet up towards SouthPark, and I ended up changing my booking to limit my stay to one night and booked two nights at the AC Hotel in SouthPark for the following nights.
