Today’s itinerary

Boarding

I leave the lounge about 30 minutes before departure. Nevertheless, several announcements indicate a delay in boarding, of around 15 minutes.

The delay continues to accumulate until it reaches 30 minutes.

Boarding areas are spacious enough

Boarding starts at the original departure time, but priorities are respected. Instead of having separate queues, Aeromexico boards in groups. As I’m in group 1, I enter the jetway among the first, but have to wait a good 5 minutes for the disabled passengers to finish boarding.

Cabin and welcome

I’m greeted in a rather unspectacular manner and quickly make my way to my seat, 01A.

Aeromexico’s Business cabin, known as Premier, has 4 rows with attractive leather Recliner seats.

Each seat is equipped with an IFE screen, power, USB and headphone sockets, and a remote control.

Here we go!

Before takeoff, a choice of welcome drink, from water to orange juice, is offered.

Service and catering

The service starts a good twenty minutes after the seatbelt sign is switched off.

A basket of junk food is distributed, and I choose a Corona to round off my trip. I’d get a mid-flight refill, but no junk food refill.

Junk food of mediocre quality

Please note that wifi will not work on this flight.

Arrival and disembarkation

We arrive in Mexico City just as thunderstorms and rain are lashing the airport. Difficult landing on wet runway.

IMG_5015
A stormy arrival

The taxiing will be long, and the slow installation of the jetway will increase our delay, and therefore the passengers’ stress.

Bottom line

A very average flight in terms of both service and punctuality.
