Review: Singapore Airlines Silverkris Business lounge, Singapore Terminal 2

A business class flight on Singapore Airlines between Singapore and Denpasar was the opportunity to test the Silverkris Business Singapore Airlines lounge in Terminal 2 of Changi Airport in Singapore.

Who has access to the Singapore Airlines Silverkris Business lounge in Terminal 2 in Singapore?

The Silverkris Business lounge is reserved for passengers departing Singapore in business class on Singapore Airlines or a partner airline.

Where is the Singapore Airlines Silverkris Business lounge in Singapore Terminal 2 located?

It is located upstairs, in the duty free area shortly after the police controls. It is therefore very easy and quick to access since at Changi the security checks are done at the gate. Then, given the size of the airport, it all depends on your gate: you may have to walk a bit to get to your plane. A data to be taken into account knowing that the controls are done at the gate so it is necessary to foresee the necessary time.

The layout of the Singapore Airlines Silverkris Business lounge in Terminal 2 in Singapore

The lounge entrance is a reception area where the passenger’s eligibility for access is verified. If you travel in business you will be sent to the business zone (left), if you travel in first you will be sent to the right in the first zone.

Immediately to your left are the workspaces.

To the right, booths to isolate oneself to make a phone call.

Then the buffet but we will talk about it later.

The lounge is composed of a single room like a huge open space.

IMG_1728

It looks very cozy and premium, it exudes quality.

The chairs are comfortable. However their alignment looks a little like “battery farming”, it lacks a little intimacy.

IMG_1730

No way to face each other either if you are traveling together without having someone in the middle all the time.

I was surprised by the relatively small size of the lounge, even if it is not the only one of the airline’s lounges in the airport because it was quickly filled. This does not generate excessive noise, but it does affect comfort a little.

In the same way we regret that the lounge is blind.

Catering at the Singapore Airlines Silverkris Business lounge in Terminal 2 in Singapore

The buffet is large and very varied.

It has a seating area which is more convenient than the lounge tablets.

IMG_1725

There is also a station where a person prepares soups and even a barista who prepares coffees.

In terms of cuisine, there is something for both Asians and Westerners. There is even a “Malay” corner that I really enjoyed.

Hot, cold, sweet, salty, fruit and all in great variety. What pleasantly surprised me was the ratio of hot to cold: at first glance 75% hot, which is very rare in a lounge.

The offer of drinks is also consequent.

I may not have searched well, but I did not find any alcohol. Normal would you say at 8am! By the way, there was none on board the flight that took me to Bali early in the morning but on return flight for lunch yes.

Normally the lounge even has a bartender.

Staff and service at the Singapore Airlines Silverkris Business lounge in Terminal 2, Singapore

I didn’t have to deal with the staff except for the receptionist who was very courteous. For the rest on the other hand it is not idle at the buffet: it is constantly replenished and in the lounge the empty plates are cleaned with speed.

Nothing special on this side: the lounge offers showers but no treatments.

My opinion

A very nice and premium lounge which we will however reproach its small size and the lack of natural light. On the other hand the buffet is impressive in quantity, quality and variety.
