Review: Lufthansa First Class Terminal, Frankfurt

At the arrival of our flight from Manchester, as our aircraft is parked at a remote stand, we are welcomed at the bottom of the gangway by our driver who will help us to make our connection in Frankfurt…

Our coach is ready to go
Yes, at Lufthansa, HON Circle passengers have access to the same services as First Class passengers regardless of their class of travel

Our Porsche is ready and waiting for us. Our driver helps us to put our luggage in the trunk of this very beautiful car.

As soon as we leave, I tell our driver that we want to go to the arrivals to access the First Class Terminal, which he does.

Our driver will immediately understand that we want to access the First Class Terminal

Access

Once back in the terminal, you have to pass the immigration controls to enter the Schengen Area. Our passports have been flagged since the automatic doors will not work and we will have to see an agent.

We quickly pass through the baggage claim area to reach the public area.

Pathway to the exit, for better access to the First Class Terminal but which imposes a passage in public area

To get to the First Class Terminal, exit the terminal and turn left until you reach the cab stand, then go straight ahead and the building will be on your left.

It is finally showing its face…
Welcome to the First Class Terminal, made rather for customers starting their journey in Frankfurt
Nobody to welcome the passengers in front of the lounge, strange

Once in front of the building, simply enter the building and take the elevator to the reception lobby on the second floor.

Reception

The elevator opens to the large lobby of the lounge. A personal assistant, Julia, comes towards us to take care of us. A good half dozen assistants are present behind the reception desks, undoubtedly to solve the small inconveniences of some customers.

Julia leads us to the security check, located in the lounge, and obviously empty. The lovely staff assisted us through the security check and we were airside, without having left the lounge.

Before the lounge itself, a small store (but with a lot of choice) is available.

But also, the traditional duck collection!

Lounge design

Julia then guides us to the lounge itself. She tells us that she will keep our passports until we leave the lounge.

The area has a very masculine feel good feel to it

She then presents the different areas:

  • Numerous lounging areas are available, built from very comfortable sofas and armchairs in camel and brown tones, coffee tables and carpets in gray tones, echoing the color codes of the airline’s lounges. Each coffee table has small snacks: dried fruits and chips, constantly renewed;

  • A relaxation area with massage chairs;
The relaxation area will unfortunately remain empty during our entire stay
  • Offices that can be closed;

  • A very well-stocked bar area, and especially with a bartender who is always present and provides service throughout the lounge. Note the Haribo bears sorted by color that I love;

  • A restaurant area with tables and service at the seat;
  • A buffet that complements the on demand offer;
Enough to make a well-stocked salad at the buffet
  • A cigar lounge (you must bring your own cigars) very well ventilated;
  • Two rooms equipped with beds that can be closed to facilitate relaxation;
  • The sanitary facilities are of course equipped with showers.

We choose to colonize one of the lounging areas and then order an aperitif to celebrate our arrival at the lounge. A Bloody Mary for Bertrand and a glass of rosé champagne for me.

Catering

The lounge’s catering offering is extensive, to say the least.

The gourmet menu of the First Class Terminal

First of all, the buffet, very qualitative.

It has a cold section with small portions already prepared, cold cuts and cheeses of great quality.

Small cold selection from the buffet, while waiting for the hot dish
Some very fresh sea bites from the cold buffet
Germany is also a great bread country
The salmon dish to die for!
The Iberian ham machine is a killer, as is the sausage
Enough to make a nice slice of bread!
The cheeses are of excellent quality

The hot section is mainly made up of dishes in sauce, but we will obviously reserve for the à la carte dishes as far as hot food is concerned.

Even the dishes in sauce look very appetizing

As for desserts, fruits and pastries are available and are also of very good quality.

The dessert buffet is of good quality, even if the cakes seem huge
Other desserts more to my taste

On the menu, we will try the Wiener Schnitzel which will be a real treat!

Our traditional selection of high quality schnitzels
The restaurant’s cellar is also impressive

Bar and lounging

During the whole afternoon, after the meals, we spent our time in the Cigar Lounge.

We’ ll have to come back to taste the whole selection of the bar

The barmaid provided us with cigar cutters and adapted ashtrays, and continuously served us Johnny Walker Blue Label and Rosé Champagne, as well as to an American couple with whom we made friends.

Extreme decadence that we assume, always in the great quality of service of the First Class Terminal

The service was absolutely perfect during our time at the lounge.

Lounge facilities

The lounge is of course equipped with very well maintained sanitary facilities, as well as showers, but, and this is unheard of, baths.

Need something? Everything is available at First Class Terminal
To showers and baths
Preparation of my bath by the attendant, with the little duck
Zoom in on the duck of the moment, which I will of course keep!
The space of the “bathing” cabins is very large
In the bathroom… There is also a shower!

I will enjoy a bath, a pleasure and luxury unheard of in a lounge. I didn’t go so far as to bring a glass of champagne into the bath, but I should have…

The toothpaste is Marvin, a sign of excellent quality in the First Class Terminal showers
Etro brand bath products are also of excellent quality
The bathrobes are extremely comfortable after a very relaxing bath

It was a very relaxing experience, which I will definitely repeat.

Bottom line

The almost 5h30 spent in the lounge seemed very short. What an exceptional experience, which we will repeat as soon as possible!
