Skyteam makes major improvements to customer support

Skyteam airlines agents will now be able to assist passengers traveling with any Skyteam member airline and transfer them to other flights in the event of an incident.

With the proliferation of alliances, partnerships and code-share flights, it is not uncommon to purchase a ticket from an airline that includes flights from partner airlines.

What happens in these cases in case of delay, cancellation, missed connection? The passenger approaches the airline he has “at hand” to solve his problem. In this case people get in touch with the partner airlines to solve the problem and if necessary take care of the rebooking.

A new feature, “SkyTeam Rebooking” is being deployed for customer-facing agents. The latter will then be able to access the customer’s file in the reservation systems of partner airlines and proceed with the rebooking.

This is the first time that a system has been implemented in an alliance to access booking records across the disparate systems of all partner airlines. It is currently deployed in 70 airports.

Any Skyteam passenger can now contact an agent of any member airline to manage the operational consequences of a delay or cancellation without the latter having to contact other partners.
