When planning a vacation, the choice of destination is the most important. But when you love airplanes, the way you get there counts too and discovering a new plane is always a nice experience.
From April 24 to October 26, 2019, 3 of the 5 rotations operated by Air France each week between Paris and Bangkok will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This aircraft is already widely used by many airlines, including Air France, but not all passengers have had the chance to try it yet. We presented it to you in business and in economy.
This information is all the more important as the other two rotations will be operated by a Boeing 777-300 ER configured in high density (the so-called “COI” configuration for Caribbean and Indian Ocean) which we strongly recommend to avoid. Not that we don’t like the 777 (on the contrary, we are fans) but because the high density configuration used on part of the fleet is, in terms of comfort, seats and services, unworthy of an airline like Air France.
Old seats and small screens in economy, no legroom, and 2-3-2 configuration in business with sliding seats for this configuration of the 777 where the 787 offers more room and nice screens in economy and a “full flat” configuration in 1-2-1 in business.
Not to mention the silence of the 787.
The 787 offers 30 seats in business, 21 in premium economy and 225 in economy.
The 777 “COI” offers 14 seats in business, 32 in premium economy and 422 in economy.
In short, a good opportunity to discover a very comfortable aircraft and an invitation to choose the day of departure according to the aircraft operated that day.
