Air France and Vietnam Airlines sign a new joint venture
- A new joint venturereinforcing the position of the two airlines on a growing but very competitive Vietnamese market;
- A wider choice of travel options between Vietnam, France and Europe thanks to an optimized offer of connections via the hubs of Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Hanoi-Noi Bai and Ho Chi Minh City-Tan Son Nhat;
- Higher service standards and abroader product offering for customers.
This will result as of November 1, 2017 in:
– Improved and strengthened connectivity with adapted flight schedules from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Hanoi-Noi Bai and Ho Chi Minh City-Tan Son Nhat hubs offering a wider choice of travel options;
– An improvement in the services offered to customers, whether they travel on Air France, Vietnam Airlines or a combined offer.
Flights operated under this new joint venture will continue to benefit from the services offered by the Skyteam alliance, such as Skypriority, lounge access and the Flying Blue and LotuSmiles programs, which allow passengers to earn and use miles on both airlines’ networks.
Since 2010, the two airlines have been operating code-share flights between Paris, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, offering reciprocal connections to destinations in Vietnam, but also in France and Europe. Thanks to this partnership,Air France and Vietnam Airlines now carry more than 400,000 passengers per year. The two airlines have also been working together for more than 20 years on the operational level with partnerships in the field of aircraft maintenance and crew training.
