Marriott Philadelphia Airport: Excellent and Very Convenient

For the second night of this short trip to Philadelphia, I stayed at the Marriott by the airport, as I had an early morning flight and wanted to maximize my sleep.

Booking

I booked this property two weeks before my arrival

using the Marriott Bonvoy app.

As I now routinely do, I sent an email to my Marriott Ambassador requesting an upgrade, which she promptly arranged.

Arrival

I arrived at the hotel just before 4 p.m., traveling from downtown Philadelphia via the SEPTA train. You need to get off at the “Terminal B” station and use the walkway that leads either to the terminal or the hotel.

From there, you take the elevators down to the lobby and reception area.

I was immediately assisted by a receptionist who completed the check-in process. He informed me of an upgrade to a Concierge King room and mentioned the availability of the Club Lounge located on the ground floor.

I quickly made my way to my room, despite the elevators being somewhat slow.

Room

My room was located on the 15th and top floor of the hotel.

The hallways had mismatched carpeting, which I assume indicates which sections have been renovated.

Fortunately, my room was in a renovated section with gray carpeting.

The entryway opened directly into the room, with a large closet to the left housing the safe, and the fully renovated bathroom to the right, featuring a vanity, toilet, and a large walk-in shower (though the water pressure was somewhat low).

The bedroom area was equipped with a very comfortable king-size bed, flanked by nightstands with modern connectivity options (power outlets, USB-A, and USB-C ports).

The bed faced a large desk with a mounted smart TV, and by the window, there was a comfortable chaise lounge.

A Keurig coffee machine was provided, as well as a mini-fridge.

Overall, a very nice room, perfect for both work and rest.

To finish, a video tour:

Hotel facilities

The hotel has a fitness center, though I didn’t have the opportunity to use it. However, I did take a few photos before heading to the terminals the morning of my departure.

Catering

Originally located on the 15th floor, the M Club has been temporarily relocated to the hotel restaurant. I didn’t use the space during my stay.

Dinner Service – Aviators Grill

I had a quick and early dinner at Aviators Grill on the night of my stay. I dined at the bar, enjoying a whiskey and a very hearty plate of pasta, which I couldn’t finish. It was good, though not exceptional.

Service

The service at this hotel was good, definitely above the U.S. average.

Departure

Check-out was simple and completed through the Marriott Bonvoy app.

Bottom line

A very pleasant stay at a highly convenient hotel.
