After a somewhat long journey by plane and then train, I arrived at the hotel following an Uber ride from the Fort Lauderdale Brightline station.
Booking
I booked this hotel several weeks before my arrival through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
At nearly $630 per night, which is far from cheap, I reserved an ocean-view room for one night.
Arrival
I completed the check-in formalities 48 hours before my arrival through the Marriott Bonvoy app. I requested a late check-out since my train to West Palm Beach was scheduled for mid-afternoon.
I therefore arrived at the hotel in the early evening. The welcome was polite and friendly, but more efficient than personalized. I was quickly on my way to my room, without any of the Ambassador benefits being presented to me.
Room
My room was located on the 14th floor of the property, with a very beautiful ocean view.
The entrance opens onto a wide hallway, which leads on the left to a large bathroom equipped with double sinks, a large bathtub, a spacious shower, and separate toilets. The amenities are from Diptyque, a brand I am particularly fond of, as in all properties under this brand.
Beyond the bathroom is a large wardrobe, making it comfortable to settle in for several days.
A stocked minibar and a Nespresso machine are available, which is a nice touch.
Then comes the bedroom itself, with a large king-size bed facing a television set above a sideboard.
On the balcony side, a sofa faces a coffee table and a desk is also installed.
Even though some decorative elements are pleasant and the maintenance is very well done, the bathroom definitely shows its age.

Hotel Amenities
The hotel is equipped with a fitness center and a swimming pool.
Fitness Center
The fitness center was located on the second floor of the property. I was able to make use of it on the morning of my stay for a short cardio session.
The equipment is thoroughly modern, and the size of the space is enough to handle the morning and late-afternoon peaks without any issue.
Pool
Like the fitness center, access to the pool is via the second floor of the property. It was not yet open during my stay, but with a bit more warmth, it must be very pleasant.
Beach
The hotel has a private beach accessible near the pool. I was not able to enjoy it either, but you can see the loungers from the pool area.
Food & Beverage
The property has a main restaurant/bar located near the lobby, Burlock Coast. I had a quick dinner there and breakfast the following morning.
Dinner – Burlock Coast
For dinner, I took a seat at the bar.
As a drink, I had a virgin colada, which was excellent.
For my main course, I had the fish and chips, which was average.
At the end of the evening, I had a nightcap in the form of a Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
Breakfast – Burlock Coast
On the morning of my stay, I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Burlock Coast. At Ritz-Carlton, Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above are not eligible for complimentary breakfast, nor for lounge access, for that matter.
I ordered a simple omelet, served with toast and potatoes on the side, and it was excellent, though a little too generous for me.
What a pleasure it is to have breakfast outdoors facing the ocean!
Service
The service was excellent at the restaurant and bar, average elsewhere. A perfect reflection of hospitality in the United States.
Departure
Check-out formalities were extremely simple, as they were completed through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
Bottom line
An enjoyable stay, but the lack of service leaves a bitter aftertaste.
