While I wasn’t planning to review one of Charlotte’s lounges—already extensively covered here—something new deserves a few photos: Provisions by Admirals Club, American Airlines’ new grab-and-go concept for passengers with short connections… or not!
Location and Welcome
The “lounge” is located at the entrance of Concourse A. The welcome is warm, and I’m quickly invited into the space. Yes, I’m saying space because this is more of a counter than a traditional lounge
Design
The décor is modern and well executed. There are a few high-top tables for a quick bite, a self-service counter with a selection of cold and hot drinks, and—most importantly, the core of the concept—a staff member handing out prepared meal boxes that change weekly, with cold options you can enjoy on-site or take with you for your flight. That’s the option I chose.
Food & Beverage Offering
On that day, several salads were available, but I grabbed a charcuterie plate to take on board my flight to Boston, along with a bag of chips. Convenient and genuinely valuable, especially considering that many flights—even those scheduled at around two hours block time—offer no onboard catering, even in First.
Bottom line
An interesting concept—one that deserves to be expanded.
