As I prepare to return to Boston after an intense business trip, I stop off at the American Airlines Admirals Club lounge at La Guardia before my flight.
Check-in and ground experience
I check in for my flight to Boston 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
I then pick up my Passbook and PDF boarding passes.
I arrive at terminal B of La Guardia airport about 2 hours before the departure of my flight to Boston Logan.
I consolidate my luggage by transferring some of its contents to my carry-on bag to avoid having to check anything.
Then I go to the TSA checkpoint, which has no priority line apart from the PreCheck line, to which I have no access.
The terminal is absolutely magnificent, day and night, with the old La Guardia of the Marine Air Terminal!
Location and welcome
The lounge is located downstream from the duty free and central catering areas, on the mezzanine level of the boarding lounge for American flights.
The welcome is very courteous, and I’m quickly invited into the lounge after checking my eligibility.
Lounge design
The lounge is simply immense, stretching the entire length of the terminal.
Numerous lounging, dining and work areas are available.
Meeting rooms (bookable at reception) are available at the far end, alongside comfortable lounging areas.
Catering
The catering offer is in line with the brand’s recently upgraded standards.
It’s very decent at breakfast time, but I’ll do without a very good latte. Several coffee and beverage stations are available throughout the lounge.
Bottom line
An excellent stay that I will gladly repeat in the future.
