Review : Business Lounge, Tallinn

Tallinn airport is a “small” airport served by very few airlines. I didn’t even expect to find a lounge there. Well, yes! A “business lounge” exists.

Location of the Tallinn Business Lounge

Once passed the security checks it is immediately indicated. It’s just a few meters from the controls at the boarding gates and the lounge is right at the entrance to this area. Just take an elevator that takes you upstairs.

Given the size of the terminal it is obviously well located since it is only 2 minutes from the checks and 5 minutes from the farthest gate.

Who has access to the Tallinn Business Lounge?

A lot of people! It is not an airline lounge but a “contract lounge”, in other words an independent lounge that charges the airlines for access to the passengers they invite to the lounge.

All the airlines that fly here use this lounge. In addition, it is available to holders of certain cards or members of certain programs such as Priority Pass, regardless of their status on an airline or their class of travel.

Moreover, any passenger can buy a 3-hour access for 30€.

One can fear that it is very full but that is not what I noticed, at least not the day I was there. Given the traffic at the airport I think it should still be quite livable.

The setting of the lounge

It is large, the seats are well spaced and it is nicely decorated.

First, there is a large main space.

You really feel at ease.

Not only do you breathe well but it’s very bright.

And here is a corner to sit down and enjoy the buffet that we will talk about later.

IMG_1265

You can also eat on a stool facing the runways.

IMG_1270

There is also a meeting room to work and isolate yourself.

Booths to isolate oneself to make a phone call.

Another room a little apart…

IMG_1297

It is very warm, well designed, simple, uncluttered. We feel the Scandinavian spirit…a little bit of warmth.

In short, you feel really good and from an aesthetic point of view it is one of the most beautiful lounges I have seen.

But it does not stop there…. a beautiful terrace allows to have a drink in the sun and also welcomes smokers.

It is the end of August, the temperatures are already starting to drop and it will not be too crowded during my stay.

Given the local climate, blankets are available for passengers to enjoy the outside air well wrapped up when the weather requires it.

In the sun it is very pleasant and I enjoy it.

At some point I will see “my” plane arrive: an A320 Neo Lufthansa in the new livery that I really like.

The buffet

The lounge offers a very interesting buffet.

Very good salads (I overdid it a bit) and vegetables.

All is kept cool.

Sandwiches and appetizers…in the fridge too.

Everything honors the local products: a lot of fish and smoked meats.

A delight.

Of course, there are also fruits, pastries and snacks.

It is varied, good, fresh. The only thing missing is a hot station and I would have been fulfilled. The only thing missing is a hot station and I would have been delighted.

On the drinks side you can find hot…

Fresh fruit juice,

Soft…

IMG_1289

Draught beer…

And the wines and spirits…

I was beginning to despair of finding water…in fact it is available at the fountain.

Une très belle offre également pour un sA very nice offer also for a lounge of this type.alon de ce type.

Really nothing to complain about, we know of lounges of major airlines in large hubs that do not come close to it.

From the terrace I can see my Lufthansa getting ready to board, so it’s time to leave the lounge…

Bottom line: a real nugget

Sometimes you have high expectations and we are disappointed, sometimes you expect nothing and you are surprised.

This lounge is pretty, pleasant, warm and the service very suitable.

It was named Priority Pass lounge of the year in 2017….this does not surprise me.
