Confluence lounge, Lyon Saint-Exupery : Elegant but small

The hotel beinglocated within the terminals of the Lyon’s Airport, I leave approximately 1h15 before the departure not knowing the situation at the level of the security or the emigration.

Today’s itinerary

Check-in and ground experience

Ichecked in for my flight to London at the same time as the outbound flight, BA offering this when the return is less than 24 hours after the outbound flight.

Back at the terminal 1, I go to the Fast Track, which will refuse my boarding pass, the attendant having to open the barrier to access it. At least, no waiting is to be deplored, the controls will be passed in less than two minutes.

I quickly go to the passport control which will remain inactive about twenty minutes before being able to pass there.

Unfortunately, the lounge used by BA does not open until 8am, so I will go directly to the gate.

Except thatafter 20 minutes, we were told that the boarding would take place not in the international zone but in the Schengen zone!

Location

The lounge is located in the Schengen area on the first floor of the building. The entrance is located near gate B05, which is good timing since this will be the gate from which I will be boarding to London Heathrow.

The reception will be… Inexistent, since my eligibility will not even be checked and I will sit in one of the free seats.

Lounge design

The design of the lounge is very nice, perfectly up to date. Nevertheless, the space seems very limited and unsuitable for the traffic of the national airline.

But in any case, at the time of my passage, it will remain perfectly civilized and with a reasonable affluence.

Catering

The catering offer for breakfast, although still cold, is quite varied and qualitative. I’m surprised to find smoked salmon, for example, in an airport lounge. Pleasantly surprised, then.
