What a lovely summer vacation… COVID and travel restrictions meant that our trip to New York had to be cancelled, and our hopes of a trip to Mexico dashed by the country’s British red-listing…
So it will be a domestic trip and a road trip with Muffin, my Golden Retriever.

Transportation
For transportation to the various hotels, we’ll be renting a Mercedes GLA from Virtuo, a 100% digital car rental company that I’m particularly fond of. The car is delivered directly to your front door.
Customer service now leaves something to be desired.
Hotels
When it comes to hotels, the choice is inevitably limited when traveling with a pet.
Our first stop is Liverpool, on the way to Scotland, a pleasant stopover in this coastal city, and we’ll be staying at the ALoft in the city center.

We’ll continue on to the Lake District and southern Scotland, staying at the legendary Trump Turnberry, located on the eponymous golf course and part of Marriott International’s Luxury Collection.

We’ll then head to Edinburgh and stay at the Residence Inn, located in the city’s student quarter.

And before heading to London, we’ll make a stop in Birmingham to cut the road and visit family, and stay at the ALoft Eastside.
