After the announcement of a great promotion at Marriott and a great “status match” at Hilton, we couldn’t fail to mention Accor and its Accor Live Limitless loyalty program, which, although announced during the end-of-year festivities, was less talked about.
Status points doubled in 2021
At each stay, the status points earned by the customer are doubled. As a reminder, statuts points are earned according to the amount spent (hotel room excluding tax, restaurant, spa…) on each stay. The number of status points earned per euro spent varies from brand to brand.
As a reminder, under normal circumstances you need to reach
- 2,000 status points for silver status
- 7,000 status points for gold status
- 14,000 status points for platinum status
- 26,000 status points for diamond status
Status nights doubled in 2021
On Accor Live Limiteless you don’t only earn your status by spending money, you can also earn it by spending nights in the group’s hotels. All statuses can be “earned” by accumulating nights, except diamond, which can only be reached by spending money.
Just as status points are doubled, so are status nights. So you’ll need to spend half as much time in hotels as you would normally to earn status.
Remember that under normal circumstances you need to
- Stay 10 nights in an Accor hotel to achieve Silver status
- Stay 30 nights in an Accor hotel to achieve Gold status
- Stay 60 nights in an Accor hotel to achieve Platinum status
What’s the Accor promo worth?
We won’t hide the fact that ALL is far from our favorite loyalty program: we find the thresholds far too high for the benefits offered compared to the competition. That said you only travel in France, you’re a bit of a captive customer, but if you go abroad a lot, it can be very interesting to look elsewhere.
Accor is following in the footsteps of Hilton, which has halved its status acquisition scale for 2021 and added a status match.
At first glance, Accor is more generous than Marriott, for whom the doubling of points/nights is just a one-off promotion for the time being. On the other hand, Marriott offers a big bonus to customers who have achieved status in recent years, making it easy to retain. But if we were to compare the value of Accor status with Marriott status…
Well, if you’re looking for cheap status, remember that Accor Gold status is worth no more than 90 euros for two years…
