In an article on co-branded credit cards in the travel industry we noted that they did not correspond to European and even less to French practices and that they finally brought little to customers in these countries compared to abroad. Accor has just announced its entry into the arena via a partnership with Visa.
At this stage we don’t know more about how the partnership will work and what will be offered to Accor Live Limitless Visa co-branded card holders.
The press release issued this week says in a cryptic way that:” The Visa ALL card will allow Accor to maintain contact with its clientele beyond their stay, thanks to one of the best loyalty programs in the industry, giving all members the possibility to accumulate points, live new experiences and spend even more nights at the hotel.” and that “The latter will offer members rewards that match their preferences, as well as the opportunity to earn more loyalty points, whether they stay at Accor properties or make purchases.“
This is neither more nor less than the principle of such a card, so it doesn’t tell us much.
In any case we can only be delighted to see a second French group in the travel industry (after Air France) and the first in the hotel industry to really develop its loyalty program, and, we hope at TravelGuys, contribute to the development of a true “loyalty culture” among French travelers (even if the partnership is international, we still know the backbone of the clientele…).
What to expect from this Visa ALL card? What not to expect? We will decipher this next week!
