Sheraton Frankfurt Airport: efficient and in the heart of the airport

After my somewhat mixed experience at theElement Frankfurt Airport, I decided on my next visit to Frankfurt to stay at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport.

Better located than the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport? Impossible

The main reason for my choice: efficiency. I had to find the most convenient place considering that I hat to take both flights and trains in the area. The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport is, like its counterpart in Roissy, located in the heart of the airport. If at Roissy the Sheraton is in the middle of terminal 2, in Frankfurt it faces the terminal to which it is connected by a footbridge. No need, therefore, to go out. And it is located exactly at the level of the train station, so it is perfect no matter which means of transportation you choose to leave from the station.

The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport is also a convention center. So it’s big. Very big. The long and wide corridors, the different bars, restaurants and various services spread over the length of the building and different levels. In short, sometimes you have to walk a bit. And when the hotel is not full or in off-peak periods, it quickly looks desperately empty.

I arrive at the hotel in a slack period of the day. The rush of departures is over, the rush of arrivals has not yet started and obviously no major event in sight. All of a sudden the size of the reception area seems disproportionate to the number of guests. The good news – and I’ll realize this the next day – is that everything is really designed to absorb big load spikes.

The formalities are quickly completed and the miracles of the loyalty program work. Or mini miracles… My standard room becomes an “Executive room”. A few more square meters dedicated to the office space. Appreciable when you are on a business trip.

The Executive Room

Once the check-in is done I go to my room. When you leave the huge “public” area to find yourself in the night part, the atmosphere becomes immediately warmer.

The decoration is visibly new and the hotel must have undergone a small facelift recently.

Without being huge, the room is the right size to have space to work and to be able to move without having the impression that you have installed your desk in your bed or the opposite. Otherwise it’s a classic.

The bathroom is quite large. One can move around without feeling like one is maneuvering in a phone booth.

And the video to wrap it up:

The bedding is of good quality and the hotel is very well soundproofed without giving the same impression of living in a bubble of silence as at the Sheraton at Roissy CDG.

As the room does not call for any further comments, let’s move on to the discovery of the restaurant offer.

A very large bar/restaurant offer

A conference center requires a lot of catering and entertainment, especially since the hotel is located in an airport and there is not much entertainment outside.

The hotel has several restaurants and brasseries spread throughout the area, giving it a very lively character.

On the terrace in the lobby…

And finally several restaurants that I had no time to see all. There are at least two.

The first one, very “business”, is at the lobby level.

But I would prefer a more typical restaurant, tavern style, which I would eventually find while walking through the maze of corridors of the conference center. Very local and on several floors.

And not surprisingly the menu…. it also very local.

The service is good and pleasant, the dishes perfectly executed even if it is not high gastronomy. In short, it “does the job”.

Sheraton Frankfurt Airport: the best choice for a business trip to Frankfurt.

The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport is therefore, without a doubt, one of the best choices for anyone who needs to stay at the airport, if only because of its connection to the terminal building, which gives it an undeniable advantage over the competition. For the rest the performance is at the expected level.
