We leave the property at 8:30 a.m. for another day of exploration after a restful night’s sleep.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed in Iceland:
We drive for almost two hours before our first attraction, the Grábrók crater.
Interesting, but too well arranged to be perfect.
We then head for Deildartunguhver, one of Europe’s largest hot springs.
Access to springs being mainly closed during our visit it was rather uninteresting to visit its hot springs, but you should know that a spa that uses the hot water from its springs is present on the site, and I took a coffee to take a break and the view is still quite pleasant.
In short, don’t take any particular detour unless you’re on the way to the waterfall, which we’ll be visiting shortly afterwards.
These waterfalls are interesting because they’re quite unique in Iceland.
To complete the picture, a torrent formed by a volcanic fissure adds a little energy to the waterfall – superb!
We end our day’s strolls with a visit to Borgarnes, a rather bland town.
We then head for our hotel for the night.
