As part of a FlyerTalk members’ meeting, which is called “DO” in our jargon, I booked in this hotel in the Polish capital for two nights.
I had already stayed in Warsaw at the Westin, which was of very good quality, but this hotel is more historical and especially much better located, in the heart of the old city.
Booking
I booked this hotel on the SPG website, using a recurring SPG Hot Escapes promotion that gave me an unbeatable rate of about €75 per night.
A few days after my reservation, my credit card was charged the total amount of the stay.
Arrival
I arrived at the establishment after an Uber ride from the airport, for about 7€.
The hotel is in a semi-pedestrian area, inaccessible to unauthorized vehicles. The driver dropped me off 50m away on foot.
The welcome was very warm. As a Platinum member, I was offered a choice between the free 500 Starpoints or the continental breakfast.
Frankly, this is the first time in Europe that I have not been able to enjoy a full breakfast (buffet) as a Platinum benefit.
Another benefit is an upgrade to the Bristol Suite, the first available suite level in the hotel.
Room
The assigned suite was located on the 5th floor of the property. Unfortunately, the view was rather ordinary, as this room overlooked the inner courtyard.
The entrance was rather spacious, a little too much so, and had a large closet with lots of storage space.
The bathroom was large, but would deserve a deeper renovation to remove the bidet and put a shower in its place, in addition to the bath.
The lounge was very pleasant to spend a moment with friends.
The room was somewhat cramped, and the desk, in my opinion, belongs more in the living room. The bed was very comfortable.
The Internet connection was of good quality, and the speed was good enough to watch videos.
Here is a short video tour of the room:
Lobby and common areas
The hotel is the historic palace of the city, with a very pleasant baroque decor. The staff is smiling, always with the small care for the customers.
Restaurants
I did not have the pleasure of dinner or a drink at the bar. On the other hand, I took my breakfast there the first morning (in supplement) with the chart: service of very good quality, attentive, and reasonable price for a hotel (less than 15 €).
Here is the “Healthy” selection:
Departure
Les formalités de départ ont été très rapides, et pour cause, mon vol à 6h15 du matin m’a imposé un départ de l’hôtel à 5h30. No problems, correct invoice, polite service.
Conclusion
An excellent hotel in Warsaw, probably the best one from Starwood. Not to be missed, the lobby is superb and tours of the hotel are even organized by the concierge.
