Another business trip takes me to the capital of Georgia, Atlanta, and to a stay at the Ritz-Carlton located right in the heart of the city.
Booking
I booked this property through the Marriott Bonvoy app, as my company’s corporate booking site did not offer comparable rates. I reserved this hotel for the three nights of my stay in an Executive Club Suite for just under $600 per night.
Arrival
Two days before my arrival, I completed the formalities. I arrived from my client’s offices by rideshare shortly after 4 p.m.
I was taken care of immediately, and check-in was handled quickly. I was handed an arrival letter outlining the Club benefits. I was soon on my way to my suite, located on the 22nd floor of the property.
Suite
My suite was located on the 22nd floor of the hotel.
The front door opens into a very generously sized living room. On the left is a first bathroom equipped with a shower.
Further in is the living area itself, furnished with a table and chairs for dining, on which a small welcome amenity consisting of fruit had been placed. The furnishings are completed by a corner sofa and a large coffee table.
The second room is the bedroom, featuring a king-size bed with two well-sized nightstands. The bed faces a chest of drawers topped by a relatively small television.
A large sofa facing a small coffee table sits in front of the bay window, which is a bit of a shame.
Finally, there is the main bathroom, comprising a sink, a bathtub, a large shower, and a toilet.
The décor, very early-2000s in style, feels a little dated, but everything is in perfect condition and very well maintained.
To conclude, here is the video tour:
Hotel Amenities
The hotel has a very well-equipped fitness room, which I made good use of every morning during my stay. Fresh, damp towels were available, a delight after an intense workout.
Food & Beverage
The property has a bar and a main restaurant, both located near the hotel lobby, as well as a Club Lounge located on the 18th floor of the hotel.
Club Lounge
The Club Lounge was located on the 18th floor of the property. It is not accessible through Marriott Bonvoy elite status, but only when booking a room or suite that includes access.
The Club Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta is very spacious, with numerous lounge and dining areas.
Throughout the day, a few snacks and various sweets are available for guests. I had a coffee shortly after arriving before heading to my client site.
Happy hour & After hour desserts
On one evening, after a team dinner, I stopped by the Club Lounge to check out the dessert selection. It was actually quite good, and I enjoyed a fruit salad before going to bed.
Breakfast
Breakfast in the Club Lounge was absolutely fantastic, with an extensive selection and high-quality items.
Service
The service, especially in the Club Lounge, was flawless throughout my stay.
Departure
Check-out was quick and completed in a matter of seconds.
Bottom line
A pleasant stay, clearly above the average standard of American hotels. It is just a shame that the room décor has remained stuck in the past.
