Today’s itinerary

Booking

I booked this hotel 2 days before my arrival in Lyon, because of a last minute client meeting. Not much choice in Lyon for chain hotels other than Accor: it was the Marriott or the Radisson SAS (formerly Le Meridien) at the top of the pencil. Nice but old fashioned.

So here I am again at the Marriott Lyon, for 140€ a night in a standard room.

Arrival

The day before my arrival, I noticed that I had been upgraded to the Royal Suite, a level never reached in this hotel. Perhaps the effect of my previous complaint following the unacceptable behavior of the staff.

I arrive in the early morning at the hotel, by Uber from Saint-Exupéry airport.

Arriving so early, I think that my room will not be ready: it will not be and I could access it as soon as I arrive. The formalities are done very quickly, and I will choose the points as a welcome gift, having to leave early for the airport the next morning.

Room

The suite was located on the 8th and top floor of the property. This time, no question of two merged rooms, it is a real suite with a lounge separated from the room, very well decorated.

The bathroom has been extensively renovated, unlike the other rooms
The shower is very large
The bathtub is a nice size, and perfectly complements the large shower

The entrance is quite spacious and gives access to the completely renovated bathroom.

The entrance is very spacious

It also has a large closet.

The large closet in the night area
The toilet is separate from the bathroom in this suite

The lounge area is very well renovated and perfectly furnished, and will prove to be very pleasant to relax after a very long client meeting.

A large buffet has been installed in the lounge area
The furniture is very elegant in the lounge area
The TV stand is also very elegant

The bedroom area is quite classic, with the classic Marriott bed, always very comfortable.

The classic Marriott bed, comfortable without being transcendent
Very stylish, but also very minimalist, the layout of the night area
Totally Nordic style in the Night space

To finish, a virtual visit in video:

Hotel facilities

I won’t come back to these, you can read them in the previous reports.

Food options

I won’t be using the restaurant, but I will have lunch on room service.

It will be excellent.

Departure

The departure formalities were simple, and the invoice was sent to my e-mail address a few minutes after my departure.

Bottom line

The hotel made up well following the previous catastrophic stay… I will return… Maybe!
